So -what you think -> it will be possible to get an autograph from her or for a "1 minutes smalltalk"/"meet and greet"?

Youre a lucky man to be there...... I would love to be there but there are only B-passes avialable... and with them it is only possible to see the last screening of "Welcome". I doubt that she will be at every screening.....

What will you do - when you will be there?

and: Austria/Italy and Scandinavia are nearly same far away from the US :-(

I will hang out and see what celebs I can rub shoulders with etc. etc. Fortunately I have a family member who has "authority" at the festival and might get me within feet of her.  Shocked

Short Films, but Long on Talent

http://www.portfolio.com/views/blogs/the-hollywood-deal/2008/01/24/short-films-but-long-on-talent

Welcome, written and directed by actress Kirsten Dunst tells the story of a family that moves into a home occupied by a ghost. Dunst's first film has a charming ending, but along the way it's scary enough to make you want to sleep with the lights on at night.

At least 120 days has passed since the last post in this thread, I've been told so as I was trying to reply. However, looks like Kirsten's directorial debut (aka. Welcome, just in case you haven't heard of it already Grin) found another way to come back.

Palm Springs ShortFest returns

http://www.variety.com/index.asp?layout=festivals&jump=story&id=1061&articleid=VR1117990038&cs=1

The Palm Springs ShortFest has packed its lineup with celebs, including many switch-hitting as helmers.

Event runs Aug. 21-27.

Kate Hudson will bring her short film "Cutlass," starring Dakota Fanning and Virginia Madsen; Kirsten Dunst directs Winona Ryder in "Welcome" ; and Matthew Modine directs himself in "I Think I Thought."

Other shorts star Tony Shalhoub ("LA Actors"), David Arquette ("Nosebleed") or feature celeb voices including Ian McKellen ("For the Love of God"), Whoopi Goldberg ("The Descendant") and Robert Redford ("The New Environmentalists").

The fest will also feature master classes by thesp Bill Pullman and cinematographer William Fraker; a session on film criticism will include David Ansen (Newsweek) and Claudia Puig (USA Today).

P.S. For your information, this is the 14th annual Palm Springs International ShortFest which will be hold Aug. 21-27 at the Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs. The festival, featuring 2,700 films on screen and in its marketplace, has been called ?the Sundance of short film festivals? because of its appeal to the U.S. film industry.

I would think that Kirsten would be very proud of this accomplishmnet.  I also note that the Palm Springs  Shortfest has recently won an award for being the best of what they do.  And of course, this was what I picked up a long time ago abt KD  going to Cal.  I was just a wee bit early.  Yes, I suddenly feel renewal of the  H force.

Unless Kirsten shows up at the fest, I'm still reserved about the strength of your H force. Grin

Well, the H force was not directly used in this matter, although it deserves some credit.  But, the first line of the above site info (posted by you, gkfi) kind of indicates Kirsten  is coming to Palm Springs.  And there will be different kinds of bigwigs there she mt. like to network with.  And maybe some of the classes would be fun for her.  This actually will not be much of a victory for harmony force, even if she does show up.  But, good news for Kirsten, just to be invited/accepted.

And I look up, and note that a "senior member" and a "hero member" have just posted.  I might as well be a "junior magpie member."

My fellow "senior member" and allegedly best friend hamlet, for some reason I believe your H force is renewed, just like you predicted/believed. Grin According to E!, Kirsten has been seen in Cal. with her family and friends, and we got John's gallery addition to prove it. Though I don't feel like saying this, H force is stronger than ever. Grin Another thing, I don't think I'll ever make enough quality posts to transcend the "hero" stage, so I might as well join your "junior" army.

Back to the topic. I'm a little curious to see how this Palm Springs shortfest invitation turns out to be.

Dear gkfi,

Your postings are very good and many times of high quality. So I am sure that sooner or later you will get the "Hero" status", too.
Bye the way newspapers told that Kiki spent nice time in Venice/CAL - so youre right again.  Wink
