Since the The Weinstein Co. financial problems have been splashed all over the media lately, there're tons of rumors afloating. And some of them circle around the future of AGT. But according to Nikki Finke, a highly reliable journalist in these fields, these're more things to it than Weinstein's current crunch. Here's the excerpt:
"Film financing sources tell me that, at one point, The Weinstein Company had scheduled for release the movie All Good Things for July 24th. This would have been the indie's first pic out since February. But now TWC will be pushing that film to the 4th quarter, which prompted talk that TWC 'doesn't have the P& A to release it' and 'is are worried about the financial results of its distribution'. Not so, says an insider with the production. It won't be delivered until fall 'for reasons having nothing to do with the Weinsteins'. Of course, this info was relayed to me after the Weinsteins placed a call to someone connected to the pic. I'm told 'the movie is really strong. We just needed more time to complete it.' Groundswell Productions financed the movie but is depending on TWC for marketing and distribution."

Looking Ahead: 2009 Toronto Film Festival Line-Up Predictions
While Venice remains a fest that strictly selects auteur driven material, Toronto is a beast of a film festival that serves up a huge heaping plate of films rolled up in red carpets. TIFF is also a great place for journalists to follow up on cinematic experiences from Cannes and conduct some in-depth interviews as I plan to do with those behind the Tales From the Golden Age, A Prophet, Dogtooth, Fish Tank and Police, Adjectiv. They'll most likely receive their North American preems at this festival. So what are Cameron and Piers looking at? Read ahead.
Usually reserved for the bigger films and Oscar buzz titles, the Galas and Special Presentations section in Toronto should be populated with: the long awaited thriller from Richard Kelly (The Box), Julie Taymor's The Tempest starring Helen Mirren and coincidentally it would make sense for her hubby Taylor Hackford to bring Love Ranch for show. Part of the Canadian contingency, Jason Reitman has confirmed it himself that he'll bring Up in the Air and perhaps a spot would be reserved for Jean-Marc Vallee's Berlin preemed The Young Victoria. Filmmaker vets Neil Jordan and Lasse Hallström might give audiences a long lead preview for their respective works in Ondine (fantasy film with Colin Farrell and Alicja Bachleda) ) and Dear John (drama romance based on Nicholas Sparks' novel). Debut films that may receive some glitter include Mark Ruffalo's directorial debut in Sympathy for Delicious, Grant Heslov's presents his first as a director with The Men Who Stare at Goats.
Andrew Jarecki's goes the fiction route debut with All Good Things
(what appears to be The Weinstein Co.'s Oscar hopeful) and Oliver Dahan's first English language feature looks like a lock for a bidding war with My Own Love Song.

Bear in mind this article is merely a prediction and the writer also mentioned that he's expecting to see Juan Solanas' Upside Down in international world premieres section. (I'm not even sure that one has already been in-production yet.)

After months of speculation, Boxofficemojo (a very reliable source btw) is now confirming AGT will be delayed after all. The release date is currently TBD, though the 4th quarter of this year has been mentioned in many speculations.

As long as The Weinstein Co. manages to release it before the end of this year, I'm happy.

IMDb just listed that All Good Things' release date as December 11th, 2009. Could it be the final date? We shall wait and see.

IMDB is notoriously unreliable regarding release dates for films but it sounds about the right date to me...particularly if the film has 'award potential'

Simonsen and Danna scoring ‘All Good Things’
Rob Simonsen is composing the score and Mychael Danna producing the music for the upcoming Weinstein Co. drama thriller All Good Things, starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Kirsten Dunst, Ryan Gosling, Kristen Wiig and Frank Langella. The film is made by director Andrew Jarecki, whose previous credits include the award-winning documentary Capturing the Friedmans. The film, which will be released next year, is supposedly based on a true story, about one of the most notorious murder cases in New York history.
Rob Simonsen has been working as a co-composer, arranger and additional score composer for Mychael Danna since 2004’s Being Julia. Their latest projects together include Management, 500 Days of Summer and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, the eagerly anticipated Terry Gilliam fantasy.

'All Good Things' director gets U.S. rights back from Weinstein Co.
Director Andrew Jarecki ("Capturing the Friedmans") has cut a deal to get the domestic theatrical rights to his feature debut "All Good Things" from the Weinstein Co. and is looking for a new U.S. distributor for the movie.
"All Good Things," starring Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst is inspired by the true story of Robert Durst, the scion of a wealthy New York family who was acquitted of killing his neighbor and whose first wife vanished into thin air. Durst at one point took to dressing as a woman, and he has provided plenty of fodder for the New York tabloids over the years. Jarecki has brought the same meticulous approach to "All Good Things" that he used with the critically acclaimed documentary "Capturing the Friedmans," which was about a New York family that is rocked by accusations of pedophilia. The director spent years investigating all aspects of the case, and the movie spans about three decades of Durst's life.
"All Good Things" was filmed in 2008. There was talk that it was headed for a fall 2009 release, but that never materialized. There have been debates between Jarecki and the Weinstein Co. for some time about how best to release the movie.
"We had a different strategy for how we wanted to release the picture," said David Glasser, a senior executive at the Weinstein Co. who also oversees distribution. "He purchased the rights back," Glasser said, adding that, "this is not something we normally or traditionally do."
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Jarecki, who founded Moviefone, spent several million dollars to regain the U.S. rights. Weinstein Co. paid $6 million to $8 million for the film, a person familiar with the situation said.
While the Weinstein Co. will not release the movie in the U.S., it did keep international rights for the film, as well as the basic cable television rights. Jarecki got the pay television rights back.
"It was very amicable and friendly," Glasser said.

Jarecki's team at Creative Artists Agency have been meeting with potential distributors and hope to have a deal in place shortly.
